Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Hamilton public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Marijuana dispensary zoning and business code
Three dispensaries want to open in Hamilton, but the city will sign the state zoning form for only one. Council heard hours of testimony but won't vote until the next meeting — the one-mile buffer fight between adjacent applicants is the real drama.
Flock safety camera concerns
A resident told council the city monitored his online communications without any crime or complaint, routing them through multiple city offices and outside agencies, and submitted records as evidence. The city manager said he'd review the documents.
Cannabis cultivation and urban agriculture
Sam Sanders pressed council again to pursue state cannabis cultivation licenses and use general fund money for job creation, urging council members to take the case to Columbus.
